Teenagers 12-18

The adolescent and teen years are when most people begin to question, discover, and articulate their own religious and ethical beliefs. Unitarian Universalist religious education for teenagers encourages this curiosity, and gives youth the necessary resources to help with this search.

There is always a social aspect to our teen religious education. Classroom-based religious education includes time for the youth to check in with one another, to share what has happened in the past week, to support one another in difficult times, and to celebrate together the joys in their lives. This social time is not only fun, but also helps the youth to learn to respond religiously to the difficulties of the teen years and to apply their beliefs and ethics to the challenges they face in the world around them.

At this time, our Teen Religious Education Director has now herself returned to college to pursue an advanced degree.  Meanwhile, our particular group of vibrant Teens is coming of age -- some have turned eighteen, others are in senior high school.  As such, The Teens Group meets occassionally outside of Regular Family Service on Sundays and is currently facilitated by volunteer members of our congregation.

In the future, as more Teens enter & re-enter the UUCVH program, we will reinstate a full-time Teen program with an RE Director which would run concurrent with Family Sunday Service.
