A southern preacher based in Philadelphia, Shane Claiborne is an evangelical Christian who is a leader of the Red-Letter Christians, a progressive Christian group. Many UUs come from a Christian tradition and may even have rejected it, but we also draw from a series of foundational, "sacred" sources, including the Bible, Torah, and Q'uran. Claiborne has been memed recently in reference to the IDF/Hamas mutual slaughter. We include that meme and a sermon by Claiborne below (in which he quotes C.S. Lewis, who said, "Hell is often locked from the inside," and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, who said, "The most segregated hour of the week is at 11 on a Sunday morning"), which is pretty great.
