LAST SUNDAY'S SERVICE
Marty Barrett, director of Outreach & Sunday Services, delivered his final service of 2023, an exploration of the feast of Sol Invictus, the Syrian/Roman god known as the Unconquered Sun, whose feast day was declared by the emperor Aurelian as December 25 in A.D. 274. 51 years later, Sol Invictus was out and Jesus Christ was given a December 25 birthday by the emperor Constantine. If that sounds mind-boggling, think of how fast things change in our own world in just 50 years, such as ... Roe v. Wade.

This New Year's Discussion Sunday tradition now has a twist: In addition to letters written to their younger selves, congregants also have a choice to write letters to their older selves. Who needs the most encouragement, reassurance, guidance, and/or validation?
