Join Marty Barrett (with special musical guest, Tom Bishel) for a service on famous firsts and how they got that way, including the intersting journey taken by the UUs' own heralded first principle, which wasn't always the first in the batting order that we know today.

Down in Friendship Hall for Discussion Sunday, Ann Kleinsasser moderated our annual "Letters to My Younger/Older Self" service, which has taken a place of honor as the first service of the year. Featured speakers included Mary Madill, Board President, who spoke about kindness, Harrison Barrett (our tallest member, pictured) who hoped his older self would always remember the friends he has now, and Marty Barrett (a mere mite by comparison) who addressed his younger self and then leapt forward to Thanksgiving, 2049 with gratitude.
STARTING JANUARY !7: A 10-Week Teranga Ranch Wildlife Spectacular!
Biologist and teacher Dana Stangel is no stranger to UUVerdugo, having spoken here about Urban Wildlife and how it relates to the UUs' 7th Principle: the interdependent web of all existence of which each of us is a part. As a community outreach event, Dana is bringing her wildlife expertise to UUVerdugo in a 10-week workshop. UUVerdugo congregants, with mention of this message, will receive a discount on the course, and one lucky congregant will be able to attend for free.
